Windows/386 2.03 is an RTM build of Windows 2.x. It was released to manufacturing on 12 August 1988. This build is the Intel 386-specific variant of Windows 2.03 and was marketed as "Windows/386" to denote it from the regular version (at the time still branded simply as "Windows 2.03"). This variant of Windows copies the files to the
WIN386 directory by default during installation instead of the
WINDOWS directory in the regular version.
